Original movie with a lot of creativity
Performed by Karla Sofía Gascón, Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldana. Good: you get a little (little) insight into transsexuals, spanish music singing (sounds much better than english), actress zoe (rita) and carla, setting (mexico) and the way you can feel the mexican atmosphere , some parts of the story where the director’s quality is clearly felt, the film is very original. The Bad: The biggest problem is that they portray a drug lord responsible for 10,000 deaths or missing as a good house wife with good moral sense.
What’s worse?
It’s just a big clap in the face of all the people who have actually lost something to the drug wars. The whole premise of this movie just feels wrong and disrespectful to those people. It’s too long, selena gomez (singers aren’t automatically good actresses, she’s chosen for her looks), all the main actresses are women (not in the film industry), the script, the story line (makes no sense many times) and lacks a clear purpose or motive.
There is none
What is the meaning or purpose of any of the 3 main actors in this film? Only 6 out of 10… Check out our list of exciting new films from this year’s film festivals, including Venice, TIFF, New York Film Festival and more.
